Prior to medical school, Becca worked as a video and film editor. As a freelancer, she often found herself without health insurance and experienced first hand many of the barriers to accessing health care in this country. Now as a family medicine physician, she wants to help address health care disparities, especially among vulnerable populations, and aims to integrate preventive health, harm reduction and an understanding of the social and environmental determinants of health in order to provide the best possible care for all of her patients. Becca has been a leader in providing education and resources for her peers regarding LGBTQ health care and best practices and is passionate about working with people with HIV and those at high risk of getting HIV. She is excited to be practicing HIV primary care because of the connections to community and the quality of the relationship with patients that is characteristic of the family medicine practitioner.
